Another building 'saved' for Wellingborough is the Ancient Tithe Barn, which dates from the 15th Century and is thought to be the second oldest building in Wellingborough next to the Parish Church. The building was constructed to hold a tenth of all the produce grown on the extensive Croyland Manor estate, forming an early tax levied by the Church. The Tithe Barn was one of two in Wellingborough, the other being situated in Cambridge Street but demolished in the 1930's.
